Thank you. Actually deal with Zag Fab in Riverton, that builds the best commercial aluminum boat out there. Will also be up there this February having some repair work done on an aluminum airboat hull.

Thank you so much!!!!

Is this project something you are doing yourself? Or is someone doing this for you? My reason for asking is that I am looking for someone to rebuild a woody body, and would be an excellent solution. BTW, beautiful workmanship.

Wooden Bombardiers / Cam McLean Clone????
« on: December 28, 2019, 08:07:13 pm »
I've asked this question once before, but did not get to far. Quite a few years ago, I was have Cam McLean completely rebuild a 1950 machine from the frame up. Turned out beautiful, and is still going strong, and looks almost as good as when he did it. I remember he had at least one son working with him.

I have another 1950 machine that is need of the same restoration. Anyone know if any of his family has carried on the tradition? Or pretty much any quality craftsman capable of rebuilding a wood machine? A remember there being quite a few bomber guys in Cranberry.

Thanks for any leads.....

Am I to understand that someone is making a power steering kit? If so, are these for sale?

For Sale - Parts / Re: b12 on ebay

Correct on all fronts. It was a friend of mine's, purchased from Cam, and then a lot of mechanical upgrades afterward. Sold to a gentleman in the Toronto area.

Pretty sure he has a second one that will be for sale. Also has a third, that he is keeping.

Saw the following ad in the local shopper newspaper. All I know about it, is what is here. I assume by the phone number that it is located in northern Minnesota, and priced in US. dollars.

For Sale, 1954 narrow gauge. $11,500. 218-689-9410

Pretty cool. A few years ago I saw a small excavator mounted on a similar drive chassis for use in extreme swamps.

Especially scary without a roll cage.

Not a Bombardier, but this machine looks incredible. Anyone know anything of it's history?
Wonder why the concept never took off?

General Discussion / Re: Weight????

I would definitely go with the foam regardless of weight. Takes away the threat of being stranded with a rear flat. Unfortunately all my foamed tires are on the machine, and would have to remove one to weigh it. I'll do some checking to see if I can come up with a figure, but off the seat of my pants, I would think doubles it. Very noticeable difference.
