My Bombardier:
1950 Narrow  Gauge

Ive just spent 3 months rebuilding a machine I got 2 years ago. Removed the 251 flathead and 3 speed standard trans and replaced with a 300 six bored out 60 thou and a C6 Auto transmission.Its been a lot of fun and am looking forward to taking it out for a run. Drove it home from town the other day, 5 miles, after getting exhaust on it. It ran great but I have to redo my gas pedal linkage as I only had 1/4 the movement at carb. It was a long, slow drive but should not be hard to fix. Pictures will be coming. Thanks to Swampdawg,Old Trucker and anyone else that gave me advise and connections to find stuff. I did learn Nipawin is a hard place to find parts.

Have a narrow and wide gauge. Don't know any ser.#s or what years. Both are steel and have round side windows. Bought the narrow myself before I even had a drivers licence. Inherited the wide with all the rest of the fish camp equipment my dad left me on goose lake. The bombadier rally even came down from Athapap and watched us lift and set nets about 9 or 10 years ago.
There's an unending restoration always going on with Bombs. If yur scared to skin yur knuckles yur got the wrong machine. There's a 300 with a C6 in the narrow and a 351 with a C4 in the wide. My dad had the wide gauge changed over from the flat head in The Pas here and we changed the narrow over ourselves.

My name is John Gunning from Lansford, ND. I have a 1951 wide woody that was purchased new by my grandfather. He ordered it in the winter of 1949-1950, recieved it in late 1951. It has been in the family all its life. I pulled it out and put it in the shop two weeks ago, after sitting for close to 20 years. I took it for a drive with several friends on Superbowl Sunday. The old girl runs great, sounds even better, and looks pretty fair for being all original (except for the gas tank). I will post pictures as soon as I take new ones.

My name is Bob Fitzpatrick and I reside at Rankin Inlet Nunavut. Electrican by trade, thus the name Amp Tramp.
We bought our Bombardier over 5 years ago and use it for hauling certain supplies to the closer communities in our region. Not often. Materials that wont fit on a plane.
Planning a trip to Churchill Manitoba mid march. Hauling a truck there and escorting a new toy back. A bobcat 2300D on tracks.
Will take some pics and if I ever learn to post we can share the trip.

Hi all,
 My name is Andy Sharpe and I am new to this. Just purchased a 48 wood narrow guage and am looking forward to delivery in the fall. I live in eastern Ontario and have never seen one of these machines anywhere in this part of the province.
  I am a cabinet maker by trade ,and look forward to working on the bomber.
  I also look after the grooming part of our local snowmobile club ,Havelock District Snowmobile Club.We have over 300 km of trail to groom ,with 2 bombardier groomers.
 The OFSC for this year has approved a antique snowmobile trail permit . This will allow the bomber on the trails as it definately will meet the requirements!
 I also ride a 2009 ski-doo renegade 800 , and my son a ski-doo legend.
   I know Im a little off in the seasons, but my intrest is always about snow!

I apologize to the membership.  I have been on N.T. since earlier this year and did not sign in.  SO---
  Frank Lowell   from Newry,  Maine.  Lumber/building supply owner for 28 years and have always had an old snowmobile in the garage.  The earlier the better.  I have numerous early 60's sno-travelers and early Ski-doo's (4 stroke only--I hate 2 stroke smoke)  The oldest machine I have is a 1945 Eliason Motor Toboggan with the original Indian 45 cubic in. v- twin.  I have always wanted a Bombardier B-7,  or B-12 (still looking for a  B-7)and finally located a B-12 in Plessiville, Qc. last spring.  I have had a great time doing research and re-building the old Bomber and this site has by far been the best resource for imformation. Thanks to all for the valuable information and help.

I own a Wide Gauge Bombardier.   My name is Jerry I signed onto this site last summer and am definately a newcomer to the bomber community.
I live in Crookston,Minn. where my son and I have an auto repair shop that has become the summer home to the bomber we bought last spring. There is no body tag on our bomber but the engine tag says it was manufactured 3/22/1951, so I expect that it's a 1951 model,it is a narrow gauge woodie with the original 251 6cylinder and the3 speed tranny. restoration. was pretty well done when we got it and we're just doing regular maintainence and fixing and personalizing a few things. Had planned to have it done by now but didn't need it so now it's going to be a priority for a couple weeks to get it ready to spend the winter at Warroad hauling my family and friends around lake of the woods fishing. I have already found a lot of information on this site and hope to find a lot more.Our bomber is ski doo yellow with black trim we're in the process of putting in a new interior and carpet.When I figure out how to do it I will post some photos.

BIGDAVE, Grand Rapids, MN.  I have been asked to help a friend on a nice '48  B12 with a few problems, rusty gas tank, blinky lights, honky horn, whine in diff?  Never touched one B4 but saw some on Lake O the Woods.  Owner says check out this forum for all I need to know.  I am retired from paper mill and have several vintage snowmobiles and help others with their projects.  Antique Snowmobile Club member and have experience with the International Snowmobile Hall of Fame.  I have mostly Arctic Cat and OMC '67-'76.  Nothing nice (except my wife, who wholly suports my absence). 1948 is just barely older than I am!!!!  I have several Wankel stuff and have ridden the (not mine) 606 twin!  BIGDAVE Johnson
