For Sale - Vehicles / Not really for sale, but....
« on: December 04, 2010, 10:02:10 am »

I think you call it " THE BARTERING SYSTEM". There's a fellow here that has 16 rims that came off an old muskeg he bought for the parts. The rims fit our bombers & are supposed to be in good shape, but he wants the big hole ones for the J5. He said he will do an even swap rim for rim. I guess there would be the problem of shipping also. I asked him to send me a couple of pics of them.

General Discussion / SANDBLASTERS
« on: November 19, 2010, 05:23:44 pm »

Dpaulson seeing that your in the steel business, maybe you can help me. I was thinking about getting a bench top sandblaster from Princes Auto or King Canada. They are siphon feed I think. My question is do you think they are big enough to do small jobs like rims & small parts ? will they make much of a mess around the shed ? I have a 5 HP. compressor with a 60 Gal. tank. I think the CFM. is around 8 or 10 ??
The blasters are around $200.00 @ both places. To get 1 rim blasted here is $15 bucks. I have come accross a bunch of rims in really good shape that just need a good clean up. I thought now would be a good time to buy one. Sorta pay for itself... Any thoughts....... anyone ?? ??

General Discussion / " HAVE YOU SEEN THE LIGHT YET...I HAVE !!
« on: October 14, 2010, 06:25:56 am »
Yes ! I have seen it & I have 2 of them. Work Lights that is. It has a built in off/on switch c/w 18 ft pull out cord with a handle for rewinding. The light it self even has a magnetic base.
Most of the older GM. pickups had them. (late 80's to mid 90's ) You will find them attached to the passenger side inner fender. I have a few pics, but still waiting for them to upload to Photo bucket. They are available through GM. Part # 15990293 @ $78.98. Attached to the pics it says that Stewart Warner has them for $18 bucks (new). I'll post the pics if they ever go to P/B. What do you think?? Good idea ???

Picked this up off YOUTUBE. Looked interesting... I think she is a little heavy for the snow though. Maybe if he had the tracks wider, it may help. 8) 8)

Metal Bombardiers / SNOWGROOMER'S 56 REBUILD !!!
« on: August 24, 2010, 06:40:45 am »

Here's the start of another rebuild. This one was for sale on here & it looks like he's not wasting any time getting started on it. Below is when he first got her..

Claude

Here are some pictures from the start of my rebuild. It is a little crowded in the garage. Since I took these I have removed all the doors and started stripping the wood out of the inside. I think I will have to take a trip to Valcort to see how the interior is supposed to look like. Do you know if there was always a strip of wood on the outside?
Thanks for posting the pictures

Doug
