Jeff I think she's going to be "looking good" with her makeup on. Your going at it the right way. It's great to see these old machines been saved from the crushers.

Anybody got any comments or thoughts on how this rebuild is coming along ??? Any ideas that you would do or change ? Jeff what color are you thinking about putting on her ?
It looks like your body man is well experienced in his work. I'm very impressed with his work. You are doing it right my friend....

Well Jeff, you are doing a 100% great job. My hats off to you and guys like you that can handle a welder and repair old and fabricate new modifications like you do. Your machine will pop to life once you start the paint flying and adding the glass and rub rail. Keep up the good work and I am looking forward to seeing her through to the finnish line.

HERE IS HIS NEWEST UPDATE ::

Just got a call from Jeff. He says she's going in to get clear coated next. He is not sure about the interior yet as he has to explore a couple of options he has.

Here is the place where his hinges came from. I'm not sure about the handles. I'll ask Jeff when he calls again. They look like the ones that are in truck supply stores.

   Hello Claude,
Thanks For the compliment!
I’m not sure what type of paint he’s using . Jeff’s friend is doing the paint work as to the hinges I sourced them from Allegis corp.  www.allegiscorp.com
There’s two types available.
PN 2432-2  7/32 offset
PN 24321-4  5/16 offset
I used both types on Jeff’s  rig.
I look forward to seeing it completed as well.
I will send more update pictures when it comes back for glass and other work.
Thanks
Mike

I checked on the internet & found a place down south in California that said they can make. Only problem is they told me they were $750.00.... EACH !!!!!   Kinda rich for my blood. When I get my camera batteries recharged, I'll snap a couple of pics of something that might just work. Mike's 57 Rebuild first thought of the idea & it looks pretty good.

Of course it's from a truck.... What did you expect from a bunch of ol' truckers  ;D 8)

Here is the window I am talking about. It's a little wider so he had it cut & he says it's good to go. It is a little lower than the other one also & it slides. Don't worry OT's got his eye out for this one. The other side was busted up.  The driver was OK.                                             OT.

Title: Re: JEFF'S 69 REBUILD !!

Yea, I think the rear one slides ahead.. I have seen a few different ones on different trucks that might work with a few adjustments. This one is on an International.

To give you another alternative I just had new door windows made for my 1959 Bombardier from a company called Peninsula Glass Company. The cost was $187.00 a window plus shippind and hanleingThey are very close to the original. I had mine made slightly smaller than original so there was some wiggle room when installing. Not too sure how to post pictures on this site, so if your interested in seeing the windows email me at long@mailme.ca and I will forward pictures.

  AND HERE THEY ARE !!!

   Here's his email.

Enclosed is a couple pictures of the windows, the picture of two windows show the new window on the left and an original Bombardier window on the right. The other picture is of the window sitting in the door, not installed yet as you see I haven't had a chance to paint the reskinned doors. The gentleman I dealt with is Jeff Kemp. Included his email address. jeff@motionwindows.com. If you need any more info let me know.

Is that company in the states ? They look pretty good. I found a wholesale supplier that makes windows like this. He sent me a form to fill out for the sizing & radius. See what happens.

In the picture second from the bottom you can see the handle attached to the front section, so they'll open from the front back.  Those windows are a great find.  Exactly what's needed.

The guy I delt with is in Vancouver but the windows were made and shipped from Oregan in the States.
The only change I would make is to have the sliding window on the inside instead of the outside. I guess I wasn't explicit enough on the configuration when I ordered them. Very easy to order using their order form, the radius for the corners is 2.5 inches
