Here are a few pictures of the festival held in Quebec this past weekend.
They may not all be in sequence as Oldsledz sent them to me, but their all here.
Great time at St Raymond. I was told there were 59 machines in attendance. Frank

Boy O' boy !! I had to take a break in the middle. That's a lot of pics. But to look at them is priceless.
A Proud Ol' trucker !!

Wow those are some real nice machines! Lots of beautiful wood ones.
-
We really had a great time. Although I could not speak french, everyone was really good about trying to speak english!! People were real nice and yes, some of the wooden machines were beautiful. There was one that was made from cherry plywood. I just found on youtube the parade at St. Raymond. Just type in Bombardier B12. I was told that there were 59 machines there on Sunday the 14th.
Next years event is the same valentines week end. All should come, quite impressive.

Oldsledz I think we may have Swamp Dawg converted to liking the ol' 'woody'. Next thing you'll see him selling his metal & looking for a woody to rebuild!! ha ha ha
-
Once you have a woody, you will never go back!!
-
i beg to differ, the wooden are a great machine, though it's hard to beat a good metal body bombardier

Well put Oldsledz. And there's enough out there to prove it !! Come on KPM, anyone can zip cut out a bit of old metal & bubble gum in another piece, slap on a bit of bondo & scrape a piece of sandpaper over it after. But it takes slow steady hand to remove an old piece of wood, get a new piece & shape it by hand so it fits just right without any kind of filler. Then when you put on your finish & stand back & admire the quality of the workmanship that you have accomplished, for me, there's no better feeling than that, my friend.
8) 8) ;D :)

Just think of a woody as an old Chris-Craft boat on snow.
-
Before we get off topic too far what's a Chris-Craft boat ??
-
the boat is made of wood OT....i've had the pleasure of owning both, and operating them in all kinds of terrain(what i believe they were made for)...I have heard of a operator of a wooden being killed by a tree spearing through the wood, never heard this of a metal though...most,and I stress most person's that are restoring the bombardiers never take them far off the beaten trail(and in reality I don't blame them)who wants to ruin a new paint job or wood work/body work,or for that matter throw in a moose or a load of fish....Where these machines not designed for that puropse though, they were the first school buses, cargo haulers/trail blazers of unchartable terrain...

like a fine woman,it's nice to have one that will do everything and still be not hard on the eye's!!!!

O.T.
Google it and you shall see what those old boats looked like in the 40's and 50's. Just a beautiful work of art.

Love those pictures!! Went to youtube, too. BIGDAVE

Hey... Oldsledz...you holding back any pictures from us ?? ??? Only joking. I thought you might have taken a few pics of those with the slides on instead of the wheels. I have a video that Charles sent me but it would be great to see up close how it works.
