That sounds like an interesting build.  What kind of track vehicle will it be.

Skurka I'm really liking your snow trac, such an interesting looking machine. Also thats some nice country in the background of the second picture.

If you haven't already seen Cam McLean's wooden bombardier restoration pictures and write-up you should check them out here. In my opinion that is how a resto should look.

In our 52 Narrow Gauge somebody has put in a GM 14-bolt rear end.  Super beefy with 3/8 thick axle tubes, Full floating axles, 1-ton strength.  Definatly will not be able to break it.

Thats a good idea, I heard that vapour locking is a big problem on these machines.  Do you have any pictures of your bombardier?  I think we would all like to see it.

I'm no expert but in deep snow it seems the ski's are always below the snow.  Most likely because there is so much track length which is pushing down on the skis.  Since powder has little compaction resitance they sink.  We clocked our bombarier with a 300 6cyl at about 40km/h on hard pack snow.  32-35 km/h in powder.

Thanks for that info, sounds like a real track buster!  You left the stock cam in there?

For those of you that want to post pictures.

At this time our forum system is not able to upload pictures to it, which is annoying. We may be changing our forum system in the future to accommodate our needs better.

So for now we have to link our pictures from A) Your own website B) Image hosting service C) or if thats to complicated
you can send your pictures to our main NT email and tell us where you want it posted.

Linking from an image hosting site is done by copying the html code they provide with your picture and pasting it into your forum topic.

Here is a site I like for image hosting.

Yes this is a metal body.  The apparatus....well its an auxillary fuel tank from the previous owner. This machine used to be used for industrial use.
We just aquired this machine not to long ago, so this is the first run with it.  Lots of plans for it to make it look nicer.

For those of you with the standard 318 Industrials in your bombardiers what kind of performance can you squeeze out of them.  Has anybody played with cams or switched to 4 barrel carb?  Any idea what the Hp and Tq ratings this motor has.
