nice looking machine,I'm thinking you will most likely want to replace the flat head six. They just do not have enough snuff for the wide gauges....

V8 Engines / Re: What size v-8 to install?
« on: December 21, 2011, 11:03:46 am »
.....the 289 302..ford v8's are the narrowest v8 engines made..will fit in the narrow, though tight,i've had both automatic and standard...seemed to work well........as for torque..the 300 ford inline six has more than the 302 or 289!!!!

solids are great, though you have to change up to the larger axle and bearings for the rear tires on the older models... to eliminate this alot of owners have gone to foam filled rear tires ,letting you use the original rim and bearings ect.

hmm,,,if running bombardier tires(new),you should not have to be changing tires, not saying you cannot get a flat, just that it's rare,I've owned many bombardiers, and never encountered problems with new tires..

For Sale - Vehicles / Re: 64 narrow

...for sure the round window holes have been cut out to fit in the long ones, and a new dash installed, alot of work done, though no automatic, which is the most work(have to rework floor, new gussets, drive shaft, brake system)..not to forget rear wall rework to fit automatic.....leaving it standard saves BIG bucks!!!.....yet this fellow is seeking same dollars as an automatic of the same condition would bring.
                                  kpm
hmm..linkage,tranny cooler,shifter,ect...yup saves dollars and alot of time!
....it is a exceptionally nice bombardier, and I'm sure cost the owner big dollars and lots of time as it is.

..great job..it's looking real good...running the 350 I  never encountered a heat problem....I suppose having a solid belly pan might give you a little extra bobbing time if you were to end up in open water...as opposed to the mesh bottom...
