I am new to this site, so I apologize if I am posting to the wrong area. I am looking to buy just the body of a wide or narrow gauge Bombardier from the 50's or 60's. Poor condition ok. Like R12, R18. C12 or C18's, but open to others.
Thank you.

Welcome to Northern Tracks, Moosebomber. Where abouts do you live as there might be something around close to you.. How good of a body do you want ??

I live in Washington State. Body can be in poor condition.
Thank you.

Sounds like you are looking for something to use as a pattern to build new...

Hey OT, if you're thinking of sending the one Glen Peckford found, I don't think it'll make the trip.

Ok, time to fess up, and I know you guys might consider what I plan to do as sacrilegious. I would like to take the body of one of those beautiful classic snow machines and put it on a 28' pontoon boat. I promise it will look great and will be a great conversation starter about these classic pieces of art.
C'mon, isn't that better that some old body rusting to pieces somewhere in a field??!!!

There are two here on the island (NL., Canada.) I'd say if you could get a chain saw, a couple of come alongs, a four wheel drive truck & a trailer, you can have them for free.....

Anyone know how to photo shop a picture ?? It would be nice to have a look at what he has in his mind....
-
Thank you. I am in Washington State, so that I probably too far to travel.

That I know my friend. I was just joking around. I hope somebody close to you will have or know of something hanging around. It would be interesting though to see something like that being married together....
Good luck from OT.

I think it will look pretty cool. If you only took it out on foggy mornings, I bet you'll here rumors of some kind of lake monster or something. ;D
-
If you mount it low enough to put wide tracks down between the pontoons, you would have a real paddlewheel queen. lol. Steering?? Well that may be a concern on a windy day.
-
I think it would be nice if someone knew how to chop up pictures & change them around. (photoshop ??). Cranman I guess you'd need some sort of paddles on the tracks instead of cleats. Maybe the steering could be individual brakes on each track (paddle). Just a couple of cents worth from OT.

Rudders instead of skis? Saw a car/boat setup on tv must of had a pto setup to turn props and used front tires to steer.
