Post by: the old trucker on March 19, 2012, 04:32:39 am

I see that Rattleman & his friends are making the best of their winter season & it looks like they are really enjoying it. Here are a few pics he sent to me to post on here.

Great pictures..  here in S W Manitoba we only had a little bit of snow that soon melted. Put 6 miles on my machine all winter and its back in the shed now as the grass is starting to turn green here.  A waste of the $195 license !

Hi guys
Here in North'sQuébec we had good snow, and again we realy need slidders to run in that snow and hills.
Take a look on = you tube st raymond 2012; you would see a blue R-18 with a 350 V-8 and a orange C-18 with a 305 v-8.Bolts are runing on slidders...... try to do this on wheels

I called Rattleman today & had a great conversation with him. My reason for calling him was for help to find the video that he was talking about. And here are a couple of "many" videos he was talking about.

We also talked about the sliders for awhile. I'm sure he will correct me if I am wrong. He said some setups are noisy. Some people have 3 wheel sliders & some have 2 wheel sliders. He says the 2 wheel slider seems to have more traction & better ride than the 3 wheel version. And the hardwood slider makes more noise than the Teflon.

HERE ARE A COUPLE OF PICS OF DIFFERENT SLIDER SETUPS THAT RATTLEMAN SENT FOR POSTING. THIS BIT OF INFO GOES WITH THE PICS.

  Hi Claude
For the slidders there's mores explications
First picture= there's the oldest system; we founded theses slidders on a b-12 near Sept-Isles.There,s was made in the fifte (1951+-). Ther's replacing 3 wheels, and they are almost the best on deep snow. But they are mores stiffs and noisy.
Second picture= Thoses models ares the revamp of the first slidder model. There's as good in snow , but less noisy.
Thirt picture = Thoses models ares replacing  2 wheels. There's a bit less good in snow (about 20%); but this model is the most silent model and the best suspension ..... mayby the best of the two worlds.
Now you know as mutch than me on slidders......

Here's another invention from one of Rattleman's friends.

We'll call it;      Roger's Ice Hut

Here is part of the email he sent to me.

This ice shack was rogers project for the best part of a year.
It is built from two double track 640 Skidoo's welded together for the base,
and the top is all welded aluminum frame and riveted…

Where can I buy a pair of the 3rd picture of the sliders? I think they would do very well up here in the arctic
