Title: Power Steering for R Models
Post by: Snowbusman on December 11, 2018, 05:27:00 pm
Hello, Is there a simple way to install power steering. New vehicles are using an electric units verses the hyd version. My 63 is in for body work finally so the end is in sight! (I hope) Now is the time to install PS if I have to open up the front end.

I installed the power steering as per 'Old Blues' drawings and it works very well. If I was to do it again I would install larger 'love joy' connectors. Mine are smaller in diameter than another fellows that has the same install. The rubbers on mine pound out whereas his never have.  Just sayin.....

Hello Guys,
This Modification is pricey, The Torque convertors are now over $1000. us$ plus the steering pump and hoses. I suspect it will probably run around $2000. CDN

Tell me the truth- "Is it worth It?"

Hi Everyone, I decided to go ahead with the conversion and did a lot of shopping. There are a lot of Torque Generators for sale on different shopping sites but look for vendors that have models that are still in production so parts are readily available, These items are used a lot in farm machinery and industrial applications so look in those sites!
