Title: alternator wires
Post by: bigbud on November 19, 2010, 12:00:05 am
rebuilding a 74 wide,318,auto.where do the alternator wires go to?i am putting a different distributor shaft in,this one is dodge bottom chevy cap, coil, and internals.machine needs complete wiring .i want to have a very simple wiring harness,my idea is run a wire from power source to keyed switch then to ignition.i want to use push button starter switch,so if i wire directly to starter solenoid do i still need a starter relay? and lastly the alternator wires,i think i have to go to a regulator or?  or is it possible to hook up a one wire delco alternator?

I have dealt with Summit racing and they have all kinds of parts, all you can get for any engine/tranny out there that I know and they supply the original look 1 wire alternator and a 1 wire distributor and couldn't be more happier with the services and how fast shipping was even to the Arctic
