For Sale - Vehicles / 1948 bombardier
« on: October 24, 2011, 06:38:17 pm »
looking to possibly sell my bombardier 1948 woody. It just got a fresh oil change . Crysler 265 engine with 3 speed standard trans. I have the history of the machine as well as all the bills from the rebuild a number of years ago . There is a electric winch that fits front or back , as well as small wheels for moving around with no snow. The front skis need to come off to use wheels. The last owner covered doors with ply as he did not like the look of the metal doors . This is about the only thing I wanted to do to her to make look better . She is in great running condition and is waiting for snow!  I have $16500 in her and that is what I am asking.Reason for selling  ,I have found a antique truck I want to purchase. The yard is not big enough so my Wife says!
Thanks OT for the pic post!
located in Ontario , Ask questions!

I have had intrest , and questions. Thanks for the emails!  I could lower the price to $15000.00

Hey all!
Fall is comming , and the change in temp at night is noticeable the last week!
There is a big difference in belting  ,and not just the number of ply's. The conveyor belting is made to streach and be flexable when agregate is loaded on them . This flexing keeps the belts from breaking.
Several times conveyor belting has been cut, dilled for groomer tracks  , and always ends up a problem. The tension cant be kept consistant , and they end up to tight, to loose and come off.  In the end the money is spent on the proper track belting , and almost never have the tension issue.
Good belting is worth the money when they last so long.

Thanks!
That is giving me some idea of what it should look like. It looks it is a addition to the original gear system , and that what I was hoping for. Next issue, what is the cyl , and control valve off?

Last weekend I made several trips to the lake with full loads of passengers! It is true that a b12 narrow holds 12 people.  It was a potluck , and many friends from Toronto. Its interesting how many never experience the outdoors.
None had ever experinced a b12 , or even seen one!

General Discussion / night ride!
« on: January 31, 2011, 09:52:59 pm »

tonight we went for a ride on the local trails with the b12. We went to visit a friend about 15 miles away. The old bomber never missed a beat !  The trail runs along the road in a ditch for a ways, and we certainly got the looks as everyone was slowing to see us!  Great fun!   On good trail we were moving along at about 20mph , in 3rd gear.
What is a normal speed for machines out there?
Any b12 stories for this season?

OT
I think you are on the right track.   I dont want to cut out the original gear  etc , unless I am sure the modification will work.  I think it will require alot of hyd force on a small cylinder to turn the skis . It is hard to turn on tight trails in our area the way it is set up with the gear system.
How is yours doing ?  Ready for wood yet?

Hey All!
Hope everyone is getting some use of your machines this winter!
We have been out many times to the lake for ice fishing. No fish but the trip out and back is fun!
In the General topic in #2 we had talked about power steering .I want to put it in my 48 narrow guage. There was coments it had been done on wide guage. Can we get some Ideas flowing out there , and a pic if possible what might work?  I did some looking at pumps . but dont know enough what is needed.
  Help please!!
