Has anyone ever changed needle bearings to the brass sleeve and bushings?

I have never seen needle bearings.
I ve seen ball bearing & race 3 sizes. that will do
everything that pivots from wheel bearings to link arms
and front swingarms that were in mine.
Skenman
62 wide gauge

Apparently the older ones used roller (needle) bearings. My manual , 1950, says it takes 304 of them to do the rear suspension. Part # A-1113

This is a 52 narrow there is alot of slop when you move the front tire.At first we thought it was the bearings in the wheel .So we took a closer look and all the movement is in the roller bearings on the main shaft that goes threw the body .I dont think there should be this much play.

Averyman is A-1113 the bearing # ? Narrownewf has a 1957 c18 with needle bearings in the swing arms & bushings in the adjusters. We are looking for the part #'s for the needle bearings. The adjusting screws on the adjusters are free, but the adjuster it self is seized to the spindle. I don't think there's enough room for a bearing puller to fit. Also the pipe that holds the axle for the adjusters in place has the welding broken, (between frame rails). That can be welded easily enough. Anyone have ideas about freeing these up?

Part #A-1113 is Bombardiers number for each of the needles as listed in their 1951 parts manual. I have no idea where you would get this item nowadays.
As for the tensioning assembly it sounds like it must be quite different than on my 1951 machine so I am of little help there...

Thanks Averyman. We can start from there. As for the adjuster, I stand to be corrected on this, from what I know there are two styles. I have sent Swamp Dawg a few pics of this machine. Maybe he can put one or two on here.
