Its bolted, the same bolt goes threw the angle iron then the plywood and then the steel. The steel is just welded along the bottom to the frame.

it lines up perfect with these bolts O.T. Mine is actually about an inch ahead of them, but if you put your even, you won't have to move your firewall ahead like I did.

Sorry for the late reply, been away fishing. The brass bushing seems like it will work alright. Will try to take some measurements for you in the morning O.T.   The thing is, if i'm off a little, it's going to screw you up alot because the 300 fits so tight.

Did you get it welded up O.T.? The 300 is a little longer the the old flat head was, so you want the end of your valve cover as close to the fire wall as you can get it and then move the rad back a couple of inches. I put mine a little to close to the firewall and had to move the firewall ahead an inch.

O.T.  Are you going to just weld the cross pieces in and then bolt the channel iron to the like I did, or are you going to weld the channels in?

O.T.  The tin is 17 1/2"s high at the end by the tranny and then the angle length at the back is 6 5/8"s. The small angle iron uprights go about 1/4" past or higher then the tin. Hope this helps you out.

O.T.  I used 1'X3" oak 6"s long. It took 4 of them and had to put a little piece of 3/16s steel to get it tight. The original was a bunch of pieces of plywood stacked together.

O.T.  Good idea about the frost plugs and the fan blows if you switch the wires. ;D Heat riser for the choke? I have the choke hooked manual, the one on the old manifold was broke off. Anyone know the number for the bearing that's in the bottom of the steering shaft?? Got small brass bushing from princess auto, going to try one down there, but if it does not work good going to have to find a bearing.

Went to the auto wrecker yesterday to get a manifold and came back with seats and an electric fan for the motor door. ;D Does anyone know when you put these fans on the door, do you just take the fan off the motor and turn it around to get it to blow instead of suck?http://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/orinleecarlson/IMG_1187.jpg

Here are a couple of the latest pics. http://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/orinleecarlson/045.jpg

http://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/orinleecarlson/044.jpg I think the frame work is almost done, a little to do in the front yet where the tin is behind the shocks and make new blocks for behind the half moon gear on the steering. I phoned around here to get plywood and all i can find is "good one side". One place told me they could order "good two sides", but i had to buy a whole lift!  :o Don't think I need that much.

Cranman,  Yeah that would be great. I'm sure in need of better windows. Do you know what gauge of tin is on the doors? I have to redo the loading door.

Here's a few pics of how i bent the top boards. I rapped an old sheet around the board and poured boiling water on it, doing this every 5 minutes or so for about 45 minutes. Works pretty good if you don't have a steamer.http://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae141/orinleecarlson/0192.jpg

I'm not sure what make a clutch fan work, but when your motor starts to heat up the fan kicks in, spins faster. On a bomber they never seem to work right, at least we never had any luck with them when we tried. A fan bolted to the water pump is turning and sucking air, NO PROBLEMS!! An electric fan may work good too. Can you get a BIG one?
