Hey all,
Is there a place to get the heat, oil, temp, charge gauge?  My bomber has modern ones installed. You can see what it looks like in my pics of the interior. When I redo the dash I would like to have the proper one.

Oldtrucker,
One of my main suppliers for the shop has the g2s  (good 2 sides) birch ply .I have asked to find out use for outside ,as well if it is rotary cut , or flat sliced. He has not got back to me yet on this. When I find out I will post it.

Hey All,
Today I took off the front wheels and installed the skis back on. Then we went around the yard in the fresh snow from Wed. This is going to be alot of fun this winter out on the trails!!!!

oldsleds,
Where is the contact for the guy that makes up the runners? I would like a spare set for this winter?
How can I tell if the ski is original length to fit the runner?

V6 or Straight 6 Engines / Engine lead additive?
« on: December 06, 2009, 07:43:03 pm »
Hi all,
  Light snow today!

In a box that came with the b12 , there was a empty container of fuel additive for engines that would have had leaded gas. I think in 1948 it was leaded fuel , so I wonder what people are doing with todays fuel. Is there concern for our old engines?

Wooden Bombardiers / Re: floor plywood
« on: December 04, 2009, 07:05:00 pm »
Some great sugestions that I will look at for sure. I think I will make the floor and end panels fit better to help with noise and smell. I checked the manifold ,and can not feel any leaks. I think I will spend some time driving it before I seal it off due to the heat concerns. I never thought of the diff temp !

Hey all,
What is the thoughts on sealing off the engine compartment ,trans, driveshaft ,etc from the cab? Will itmake a difference on cooling engine ?The machine I have seems like it will be noisy and gassy in the cab.

Wanted / door handles
« on: December 02, 2009, 11:47:27 pm »
Hey all,
Does anyone know a supplier for door handles for my 48?  Are they all the same handle ,catch etc for the 5 doors?
Also I would like a adjustable spot light like the ones you would see on a old police car or fire truck. The handle is on the inside of the vehicle to move it.

Old Trucker,
Thanks for posting my pics ,as well as the forum help!
I am going to enjoy this winter with the b12 as is. The mechanical parts of the machine were rebuilt approx 1998 , and are in excelent condition from what I can tell. The wood was also redone then ,and needs some attention. I am a cabinet maker by trade ,and the plan will be to redo it in the spring.
I will make as close to original from the information that you all are sharing on the forum. I will be changing the interior stain colour ,and wood framing to some cherry I have been saving.
The purchase from some fine people in Creton Sask was a pleasure .They have a passion for the bomers ,and its obvious from the pictures they sent with the machine.
