General Discussion / New Alpine Tire
« on: March 03, 2013, 03:39:40 pm »
Just installed the first one on a Narrow Gauge. Clearly a more vertical profile, this tire does not touch the inside edge of the track. Centres easily in the cleat cup.
There is 3/8"s to 1/2" clearance on both sides. All the other Dunlops appear to rubbing slightly.
Rated at 70 psi, Dunlops are rated at 35 psi and is usually where I run them.
I think a less jarring softer ride in loaded conditions, they do need regular air pressure checks.
I have the new rim, waiting on an excluder retrofit.

          CLYDE2GUIDE,

The current rim has clearly worked for decades. With high maintenance.
A bolt on upgrade could be the future. Hope you get there.

            CLYDE2GUIDE,

When the decision was made to produce a new rim, was there ever a consideration to make a 5 bolt rim pattern?

       Clyde2Guide,

Is there a Manitoba Dealer for these new tires?
Does the backside of the new rim fit the existing excluder?

Excellent to see another bomber coming back to life. My 58 wide gauge comes from your community. It started its first service life for the Davidson School Division. Many of them from around home have the same background history. Good luck, enjoy the snow.

Welcome to the club. A lot easier than fishing it out of the lake bottom!

That machine with the visor is not home yet, photos then. D.O.

There is always the chance a marine window manufacturer could custom build them. For a price of course. Thanks for that info, D.O.
