Metal Bombardiers / Power Steering for R Models
« on: December 11, 2018, 05:27:00 pm »
Hello, Is there a simple way to install power steering. New vehicles are using an electric units verses the hyd version. My 63 is in for body work finally so the end is in sight! (I hope) Now is the time to install PS if I have to open up the front end.

Hello All,
Just had a stupid snag on my 63 313  converted to electronic ignition problem,
For the last two years no problems starting, then this past week -NO GO!
Well after a lot opf muckin around it turned out to be a bad ground-the base of the Module was not grounded (Or lost its ground).
Cleaned everything thing up, hit the starter button and life!!
WATCH THOSE GROUNDS

Hello Snowbusman from Sault Ste Marie here,
Really missed this site while you were off line. Is there anything I can help with? This site has been so helpful to me and I hope I have helped others in return.

I'd very interested also in pictures. What is the history of this amchine and where would it be.
Like to see the running gear under the floor pan and engine compartment.

We searched high an low for a new cam amd finally sent the original out for regrind. If any one wants the numbers I can supply them.
If I wasn't such a fan of poly engines, I would have never gone this way.
Oh well it sure been interesting

Hi Ray
My E Mail address bobsanders@live.ca
The hyd brake looks great. What did you do for the control?
I would appreciate any info you can supply. I am just getting the engine finished.m I converted the IND313 from 3 speed standard to a 727 automatic. Had to change a few things but very achievable. The hardest thing was finding 313 information but I have it all now. If I can help you with anything, let me know.
Cheers

I finally got the numbers from a rebuilder.
Took a lot of E Mails to finally find the information. Thank heavens for the internet.

I must apoligize for starting this message and dropping it for the past year. Things were pretty tough at home and I spent all my time looking after personal affairs. With that in the past I am back at the machine
and currently working with my engine rebuilder building up the bottom end. I am doing something a little radicle with installing an automatic transmission up against the IND 313. Its been a real learning curve but very interesting. The polys are truely a great engine, very strong and just about industructilble. I have been taking pictures of the restoration and keeping a log. Lots of hours so far and still have the interior and exterior to  get at.
