Sounds like the rally was a hit....the pics look great.    I am relatively new to this.   Acquired a narrow gauge 3 years ago and then a wide gauge last year.   Each year I look at the rally information and one of these years, my schedule will permit me to try to attend.   It looks like a lot of fun.  Would enjoy seeing all those vintage bombardiers and the opportunity to chat with all.

Drivetrain / Re: sprockets and cleat spacing

instead of using bias ply tires to affix to the sprockets, I went to a JD dealer and picked up some jd round baler belting.   very durable and easy to work with.

General Discussion / May 15th 2009 and went for a ride
« on: May 15, 2009, 09:47:37 pm »
Hard to believe - Long weekend in May and we received 11-12inches of snow fall last night.   So while I had the narrow and wide gauges parked, had to fire up tyhe wide gauge and go for a ride.   Snow is sticky and wet, but we got a tonne of it lsat night.   Located in Yorkton Sask.   Feels good to go for a ride.   DOn;t think that will ever happen in the middle of May again.

Body / wiper Motor
« on: January 07, 2009, 06:52:24 pm »
Does anyone know where I could find a wiper motor.   The one I have is an American Bosch and I have gone to a couple of automotive stores and when they look at it, they get this kind of "deer in the headlight look".    I have tried searching the internet for one, but to no avail.   Thanks

For Sale - Vehicles / 51 Narrow Gauge - wood body for sale
« on: January 05, 2009, 05:26:39 pm »
I have a 1951 narrow gauge for sale.   Acquired it 3 years ago and using it for pleasure rides.   Tracks are decent, wood is original.   Flat head 6, 3 spd standard.   Interior still original.   Could be updated.   Wood stove.   All glass is good.   Runs flawlessly.   You can get in and drive it or if you want a restoration project, this would good as well.    I just bought a wide gauge and thus the reason for selling.   My bride says we don't need 2 of them.   Located in Yorkton Sask.

Sorry guys I have now sold this machine....it was a good unit and we wish the new owner well with it....we still have the wide gauge, that has been totally restored however we are not selling it at this time.

General Discussion / Re: B12's....wide gauge
« on: December 10, 2008, 08:17:59 pm »
thanks for the responses.   I see I am not the only dumfounded guy trying to figure it out.....so now,...I found a C17...and the invidual tells me that this is a newer version of the B12 narrow.   It apparently has a different suspension in the front allowing it more travel and in trun a better ride.   He has also told me that a C18 is the newer wide gauge....oh well....still confused..

Question....did they make a B12 in narrow gauge and wide guage?    And how much wider is a wide guage compared to a narrow....is it 12" or ?

Hi - Larry Hilworth - Yorkton Sask.   Farm Implement Dealer.   Having seen wide guages in west Yellowstone several years ago, I have wanted a Bombadier ever since.    That was 24 years ago.  In 2006 I finally found one...a 52 (I think) Narrow guage, flat head 6 , 3 on the tree.      Really never did much with it and it runs great.   We use it simply for recreation.   Absolutley luv it and my wife said sell her snowmobile.  She has way too much fun in the Bomby.    It has been a blast.   Would like to find a wide guage someday.

Read the posts every so often.  Great to hear the stories and the pics are fantastic.
