Drivetrain / Re: Only One track driving 1963 R12

Yes, most bombers came in a Dana 44 and Dana 60. The one I have came with a Dana 60 semi floating diff, I plan on getting a full floating diff with maybe a 4.10 or 3.90 gear ratio limited slip (posi). If you can upgrade your diff to a posi track, I advise you to do so just to improve traction when you need it as opposed to an open diff where you can get stuck on nothing (happened to me before) when towing a sled with a load.

Best of luck

The diff may be an open diff, which is a problem with getting stuck. Another thing to look for is the diff movement from shifting into gear from foreword to reverse and vise versa. If that's the case, your ubolts for the diff may be worn out, hope this helps

General Electrical / Distributor

Has anyone ever fiddled with distributor springs? Have a proform hei distributor and runs fine warming up but once warmed up, seems to lack power even with distributor adjusted and can't seem to fine tune. I've looked up advance curve kit with weights and springs, would they be of any help? Anyone ever gone thru something like this?

Drivetrain / Re: what gear ratio to go with?
« on: March 05, 2021, 11:57:30 am »
Has anyone ever gone with a 3.73 ratio? I found a full float Dana 60 at the dumps and the ratio is a 3.73. I am thinking it would be great in 1st and 2nd gear but I am no expert in differentials, just trying to get some input from people who has been there and done that.

Drivetrain / Diff noise shifting into gear and accelerating
« on: February 25, 2021, 11:15:00 pm »
Have any one on here have problems with diff noise at shifting into gear and accelerating. I have the original diff in the 75 bomber and has a Dana 60. Finding a diff will be difficult being in the Arctic, and wondering if anyone has repaired a diff with the same symptoms.

General Discussion / Re: Factory power steering

Hi there all,

I was able to get a power steering pressure reducing kit from summit racing and seem to have solved the problem, and steering works perfectly now. Here is the kit I ordered online and can be found on Amazon.ca as well.

V8 Engines / V8 exhaust

Does anyone have pictures of their exhaust systems on their bombardiers. I've seen a few different set ups and would like to see your exhaust system. I know the ones with exhaust going out the back of the machine tend to have a flex pipe added in.
