Title: painting the old girl

what do everybody do when painting thier machine? especialy on a new restore job. just sand off the rough and rust and put on primer and tremclad paint? or get automotive paint for it. do it last very long?

That's all that I did with my old 53' last winter. Just sanded it down, a little body filler on the bad spots and painted. I used tremclad "Old Caterpiller Yellow". If you do too good a job, you won't want to bounce off too many willows or trees. lol
