My friend Bill and I own Bombadier SV 200,Dozer style,  1979 Ford Ranger(red) that Bill put up on nylon Tracks, and our newest is a 65? B-12 that needs alot of body work. we have been going through it mechanically first.  Last year was lights, wiring problems new sprockets and bearings.  This year new wiring harness, change 3 speed trans to an automatic, new seats and put nylon on the skis, tranny cooler and radiator

Old Trucker  !! The sno-bears are cool, ive seen several demos, ground speed is good, ride is decent for such a short "wheelbase".  Pretty spendy. Thanks for all of your support to this site.  I don't get to spend enough time on this site as I would like but your efforts to help us are appreciated.  We(my fishing buddy and I ) are pulling our bomb in to start a rebuild, or as much as we can get done before December. New transmission, we have a manual now and for pulling fish houses an auto is a must. Rework a very old and tired wiring harrness, and hope fully some body work and paint.  One of our big hurdles has been new door hardware as you know, being a trucker do you think something for a semi truck tractor would work?  I have at least a name for the style operators that I think will work,(paddle locks) we want it to be a thin install 1" probably alittle more, but most of the operators I've come across only open from the outside.  I have not spent much time in the cab of a semi but I know the doors appear to be flat and thin. I would appreciate any advise you have.
Thanks, Bob

Drivetrain / Re: TIRES
« on: December 26, 2007, 07:45:25 am »
We have put tubes in ourselves with old tires, I've never heard of streching them.  Who did you get tires from? How much?  We need a couple for our B-12. We are heading to the lake on Thursday, maybe see you.
Thanks Jason

Jason, I just got sprockets from Dan Shaver, he has plenty of tires. If you want to try someone close try  Al at The Marina, Lake Of the Woods.  Did you get a machine?  I'm at Marvs all weekend stop and ask for Bob

We pulled our rig home on labor day and haven't touched it since, my fishing partner and I work all summer so we can be on Lake of The Woods fishing and driving tracks as much as we can. Our new project is a '69 B-12 ?, Pictures soon. I am still looking for ideas for door handle hardware, (operators, hindges). We hope to just get it mechanically sound for this season, then restore next year.  For sure we need new sprockets any advise ?

General Discussion / Door Handles
« on: April 10, 2007, 05:46:12 am »
Thank you for your help and replies.  Our bus has a mixture of homemade door handles and one possible stock operator.  The stock handle is flush on the out side and has the standard chain on the inside.  I have been seaching for a close replacement to buy but no luck so far.  The pictures of the "strech bomb's" that Sportsmans Resort owns have the handles I would like to find.  Those modified rigs were built at the lake of the woods marine so I will try there also. What have you guys done for body parts, handles and hindges?  Thanks for the advise, Bob

WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO PREP FOR PAINT, SANDING/SANDBLASTING?  THE WIRING HARNESS IN OUR RIG IS IN PRETTY GOOD SHAPE BUT STILL OLD ARE MOST PEOPLE REBUILING THE HARNESS FROM SCRATCH? ANY ADVICE WELCOME. THANKS, BOB
