Wooden Bombardiers / Re: OT'S 47-51 ??? Rebuild ??
« on: May 08, 2013, 07:07:29 am »

Orin, Walrus & the rest of the members, thanks for asking about me. I haven't done very much at all with my bomber for a long time now. I think I have fallen ill to the couch potato syndrome. I had a fellow geared up to do my diff for me but after months of waiting I gave up on him. I now have it at another fellow's place. I called him last night & he has it pretty well done as he had other jobs that have priority over mine.
I don't be out in the shed in the cold months cause the "BOSS" complains about the extra costs ($200.) on the light bill every month. I'm hoping to be back at it this summer. I was out of town for the last few days getting another check up. While there I bought a set of gauges & ignition & ignition switch so I can wire the engine with the help from Remtech. I am thinking about useing a Dodge power wagon rad as it is a bit shorter & the rad man says I can make it more efficent by adding an extra core to it, 4 versus 3...
Walrus, as for pics, what I have are posted in my rebuild. I am still kicking. Doc says I'm too contrary to die yet.  Ha Ha !!!

This ol' fart's here for awhile yet !!!!

Metal Bombardiers / Re: PAUL'S 54 RESTORE !!
« on: April 27, 2013, 07:21:02 am »

Work has been busy for him for awhile now. No time to pick at his bomber. Last week he found an old Ford pickup & got the motor & trans out of it. He has a stand made up for it & will clean it up & get ready to install. He was looking at my engine to see how I had it mounted.
I would have taken pics of his work but I have my camera screwed up....Again !!! Hopefully I'll get a few pics soon...

General Discussion / Re: TRANSLATING LANGUAGES
« on: April 20, 2013, 05:47:03 pm »

This is one of the reasons I would like to use the translation to English..

      http://youtu.be/rGpNmGtd-l0

You will see & hear Rattleman talking at the first of it. Take notice @ the 4;40 mark in the video, you will see wood carvings around the windows.. I thought they were great.
Rattleman can you show us more of those carvings... Very interesting to see the person I was talking to on the phone awhile back...

General Discussion / TRANSLATING LANGUAGES
« on: April 20, 2013, 10:46:43 am »
I was just on that youtube looking at a few bomber videos. They were mostly in French. I would like very much to find a way to translate their conversations into English. The videos are great. Anyone have an answer on how this can be done ???

                                                                                     OT'S learning again...

If Shavers don't have them look up Vintage power wagon. I think Oldsledz got his there. Under General Discussions look up "NEW PARTS SUPPLIERS LIST". There are a few places there to call.

For Sale - Parts / Re: Used track parts
« on: April 13, 2013, 03:32:55 am »

That sounds like a great price. A friend of mine called up a place in Quebec City looking for tracks for his J5. They will sell him a new set for $10,005. A used set was $ 3,000. If I were close I'd buy them.

                                                                                    OT.

This is Oldsledz's woody. you can see the hole just behind of the second axle from the rear. I think there is another hole just ahead of that one for the transmission. Be careful with the drill as Mike's ( 57 rebuild )
said the drain plug in his is almost flush to the floor. I hope this helps a little... There may be a plate laid on top of the hole.. OT.

I think there is a hole located in the floor pan that was used by the 251. It should be right under the oil drain plug. If you look up wooden bombardiers & go to "VARNISHED MACHINE" , reply # 11, third pic down, you'll see it.

Just put this pic here to show folks what you started with.. It's going to be a long ungoing process, but I'm sure you can do it...

 HE COULDN'T RESIST THE WAIT  ::) ::) 8) ;D

He had to go for his first ride ever in a bomber before all the snow goes ! There's still a few things to finish up outside like motor door skins from Shavers, new headlights, & decals for the front hood & those fancy bell stickers @ the corners.

That's a sharp looking machine !!! It needs a pic or two taken outside to do it justice. Mike showed me how the hinges on the doors worked out pretty good, especialy on his cargo door. The hinges are offset I think allowing the wood strip to be a little longer.

Here's a couple new pics of his bomber. He bought all new handles for the doors. When his motor door skins arrive, that should be most of the outside work done I think. He also has "NEW" old school headlight pots ordered..
