General Discussion / FAKE EMAILS FROM ME...
« on: July 17, 2012, 04:31:09 am »

Please read & heed this message. Apparently there has been a few emails that have the subject title .... "PRIVATE MESSAGE".... that were supposed to have been sent by me. I did not send any of them. I think it is some kind of scam or virus.

General Discussion / STUB AXLES
« on: May 24, 2012, 09:44:53 am »

I met a gentleman in St. Anthony, NL. on Tuesday past that has a 1965 wide gauge bomber. It looks to be original with the 313 engine. He has a problem with one of his axles. The axle shaft (that the wheel fits on) broke into 2 pieces. He found another one from an older condemned machine & used that. Only problem now is that the one he found has a smaller shaft & he had to use a different bearing & race. One of the members said he thought they changed to a bigger axle shaft in 57-58. I tried looking back over the posts but can't seem to find it now. Does Dan Shavers make these axles ?? Below is a pic of the axle style like he has on his.

General Discussion / Found this on the internet today
« on: December 25, 2011, 12:08:30 pm »

In the second story they talked about a rally Eganville, in the Ottawa valley. It would be interesting to find more of these beauties & find out how they survived.
Rattleman or Marc, are you guys close to the Ottawa valley area. Have you heard anything about this ?? It would be nice to meet new people & see their machines...

I had heard about a vintage snowmobile rally in Eganville and it piqued my curiosity. With a growing interest in documenting regional cultural festivals in Canada, and as an outsider to snowmobile culture, I made my way northeast towards the Ottawa Valley. I’ve been documenting some of the lesser known Canadian cultural festivals, celebrations, and rituals of the present, attempting to construct an understanding of my own relationship to the multifarious notion of Canadian identity.

I have been documenting regional cultural events that are seldom seen outside their locales. These events are traditions that are important in building and maintaining regional communities in different places across Canada. As a country, Canada spans 9,984,670 square kilometres, making it the largest country in the western hemisphere. Its culture is as diverse as its geography, and so it is not so strange for me to feel like a foreigner inside the country I call home. This is one of the reasons why I wish to bring these activities into focus and share them with a larger public in hopes of including these hidden treasures in a larger picture of how we as Canadians view Canada.

Between 1945 and 1951, L’Auto-Neige Bombardier sold 2,596 vehicles. The Department of Public Works owned the majority of the B-12's up north and they were painted yellow

Body / RAD DOOR HINGES
« on: December 14, 2011, 01:12:01 pm »

Has anyone noticed how the rad door is hinged ? It looks like it opens from the bottom. There must be something keeping them in place. These hinges are used on the doors. These pics are from the "60" for sale in the for sale section. Back about 3 weeks ago I noticed this same machine on another site selling for $ 30,000.

For Sale - Vehicles / 1969 WIDE GAUGE
« on: December 04, 2011, 08:51:54 am »
The Old Trucker...posting for Jeff's 69 REBUID

Jeff, the same one in Jeff's 69 rebuild has decided to sell his wide gauge bomber. Check out Jeff's 69 Rebuild under metal bombardiers to follow along & see the quality of work that has been done with this machine. Below is the email he sent to me...

Hi Claude, Here are a few more pictures of my wide gauge with the glass in it. The exterior turned out beautiful. The interior still needs to be done. I was just wondering if you may know of someone interested in it. I have lost some interest in it. It has taken so long to get to this point I am a little frustrated with it. It has a Chevy 305 automatic, runs and drives great. The tracks are showing some wear. I would be asking $29,000 as it sits, that's about what I have into it. Thank you for your help, Jeff

Here are a few pics of the bomber.
