Yeah that is correct, you have to solder in the right receptacle for the 1157. I didn't do it as I'm not needing stop lights but it looks like there is room for it.

   I guess all you have to do is keep an eye on the height of the bulb to the top of the lens. Wouldn't want to melt the lens. I think you have Grote lights, correct ?
   I think that lens is a little higher than the Trucklite lens, giving you more height for the taller 1157 bulb. It's a good idea though to have brake lights to. Especially if some is traveling close behind you.
